Valentina Cuoccio's Portfolio Project
During the CareerFoundry UI for UX Designers Specialization Course, you’ll build out a job-ready portfolio project. Here is a breakdown of graduate Valentina’s portfolio project, Low Impact Fitness.
What inspired you to make a career change into this field?
In 2020 I decided to invest in my design knowledge, built after over six years in architecture, and follow my passion: UX and UI design. There are a lot of transferable skills I’m able to adopt, such as coordinating design decisions, applying my creativity, strong work ethic, communication skills, and management skills to a new field. My main goal remains the same as my previous career as an architect: to find innovative solutions that work for the users and the business.
What did you enjoy most about the CareerFoundry UI for UX Designers Course?
I loved the interaction with my tutor and mentor. My tutor Julia has been a great inspiration and made me feel confident with all of my design decisions. I enjoyed the practical approach of the learning style at CareerFoundry too.
What did you enjoy about creating your CareerFoundry portfolio project?
The freedom in my design decisions! I enjoyed exploring different solutions. The application of design in tech is endless compared to the architecture field that I knew previously. I appreciated all of the little steps that I took everyday to build the portfolio. And at the end of the course, I had everything I needed to land a job.
With regards to your new career and skills, what are your hopes for the future?
To keep working hard to grow professionally, and to make a positive impact on people’s lives with my work.
