What inspired you to make a career change into this field?
I made a career change from environmental science to coding after discovering my love for programming languages during my master’s degree at the University of Kiel. It all began when I decided to take a course on coding, and I quickly found myself drawn to the problem-solving aspect and the ability to build something from scratch.
I saw the opportunity to use technology to make a positive impact and create innovative solutions and decided to make the move into the tech field.
What did you enjoy most about the CareerFoundry Web Development Program?
What I liked most about the Full Stack Web Development Program was the comprehensive curriculum. It provided a well-structured learning path that allowed me to acquire a wide range of skills and knowledge, from frontend to backend development. The hands-on projects and mentor support were invaluable in building my confidence too.
What did you enjoy about creating your CareerFoundry portfolio?
One of the things I really enjoyed about creating my portfolio project was the opportunity to build something from scratch. It was a challenging but incredibly fulfilling experience. There were times when I faced obstacles and felt stuck, unsure of how to proceed. However, it was during these moments that I truly appreciated the learning curve and the growth it fostered.
Having the support of a mentor was also invaluable during the development of my portfolio project. Being able to discuss my ideas, seek guidance, and receive feedback helped me to refine my work and gain a deeper understanding of the entire development process.
With regards to your new skills, what are your hopes for the future?
My hopes for the future are to contribute to meaningful projects that have a positive impact. I aspire to work in collaborative and diverse teams where I can learn from others and contribute my unique perspective as a developer.
